How does the setup and restore process work?
The setup can be done by us, you or the client. We will give you access to your own Control Panel to manage your clients and your client will also have their own Control Panel. To setup the backup, the Control Panel simply links directly to their Xero account via an admin login which just needs authorising. The first backup will then run.
For restores, there will be a list of each daily backup in the Control Panel from the day the service started. Simply select which you need and click 'recover'. This will download the data in .json format and from here you will be able to manipulate the data and upload it back into Xero.

Do Xero recommend using a third-party backup solution?
Xero’s Services Agreement states: “You must maintain copies of all data inputted into the service. Xero expressly excludes liability for any data loss no matter how caused.”.
As Xero doesn't include backup functionality, the only way of backing up Xero is by way of a third-party. Our backup solution is Xero approved and links directly with their software.
Do I have to pay for every Xero login my client has?
Xero Backup is billed per organisation, not per user or login.
So if your client has multiple logins for the same Xero environment, they would just need to pay for a single organisation.
